Certificates of Participation

Thanks to Moira Hunter, Aiden Yeh, and Dafne Gonzalez who together with Vance have persevered into October 2009 to create and sign the certificates whose template appears below, to be sent as PDF to all presenters at WiAOC09.

Vance will create a list of recipients here.  We can include anyone who helped and who would like a certificate.  If you would like to add your name or if you know someone who was left off the list please add it in or contact one of the people mentioned here to do it.

Vance will create a table here: Name of recipient, accomplishment, Date certificate sent and sender, whether invitation to contribute to the proceeds was sent.

Regarding proceeds, WiAOC has been held in 2005, 2007, and 2009. In intermittent years, 2006 and 2008 we have published a proceeds.  The proceeds appears online and offers free access to articles generated by the WiAOC event.

A Call for Submissions will be sent to presenter recipients of the certificates of appreciation.  We might word it thusly (after apologies for delay and sending thanks):

Dear (name of presenter),

Thank you very much for contributing to WiAOC09, our third Webheads in Action Online Convergence, held last May 2009.

This event, as with everything that Webheads in Action does, was produced without any budget whatsoever.  However, as a small token of our thanks, we would like to offer the enclosed certificate to express our appreciation of the time and effort you took to make WiAOC09 a success.

This is the third event of this nature that we have held.  Following the other two, we have published proceedings containing papers deriving from some of the presentations.  We would like to invite you to submit a paper to our proceeds to be published in 2010.

Co-editors for our current project will be Vance Stevens, Dafne Gonzalez, Moira Hunter, and Aiden Yeh. We have not yet arranged for a publisher, but it will be an entity that will make our work available for free and online.

Our previous two proceeds were published as follows:

We hope that you will consider contributing to our next proceedings.  If you would like to do so, please indicate your intent in email to (address to be provided) by November 30, 2009.  Other deadlines (arbitrary at this point):

Thanks again for your valuable (and valued) contribution to this effort.  We hope that the attached certificate will extend to you a token of our gratitude and appreciation.

Please let us hear from you in the near future if you would like to continue to work with us on a published proceeds.
